My God! Edna really loved him! This is a really sad story that reminded me some movies, TV series and books I've read. I think she was loyal her whole life to "the love of her life" and I'm pretty sure I would do the same. Love is the greatest thing that we have in the world and maybe if my boyfriend would die (I hope no, he's too young) I would feel the same as Edna. Personally I've never met someone who has lived a similar experience, but, as I said before, I've seen cases like this in movies and series, so I admire when the woman (or in some cases the man) remains loyal to her lover.
